So, I was unaware of the sordid history that a certain other popular newsletter/journal type of app used and was originally publishing articles over there. Then a friend of mine told me, “why are you publishing on the right wing TERF supporting outlet?” And I was horrified reading through multiple articles about a lot of the supported opinions over on that side of things and decided to make a move because I don’t want to be associated with that kind of outlook. Yikes.

So here is the new home for my articles, opinions and reviews. I.e. the new Numii.txt.

My old banner, with white gothic lettering and a faint neon purple glow.

(Please don’t turn into a right wing TERF website, Leaflet, I really don’t want to start over a third time.)

Anyway, hi I’m Numii. I’m in my 30s, I have two pet cats, a ball python, a really weird family and weirder friends (affectionate). I’m usually fairly busy with stuff offline, so I don’t publish articles often— I’d still love to have your company and opinions if you’d like to stick around and read my thoughts though.

Cat tax, my standard issue black/brown tabby sleeping curled up on a heathered grey blanket. He has an orange-ish nose, and black toe beans.

I’m also called Captain, Middy and Moony in some spaces depending on where people know me, so if those names pop up in any comments I’m used to it. On occasion people do use my actual name, but I request that people call me Numii over on my socials.

I’ve collected a few things over the years:

  • D&D dice

  • Indie nail polish

  • Formerly indie perfumes

  • Journaling supplies/stickers

  • Books

So these things may or may not come up in articles. I no longer collect a lot of what I used to, consumerism has become a much bigger issue and in all honesty I don’t have as much space for hobby items now as much as I used to (thanks ADHD and my propensity for finding hobbies every few months) so I’d like to add that I’m not advocating for the collection of a whole bunch of items you’ll never use. r/wegotpolishathome is a great source for indie polish wearers that want to use up what they have and not get caught up in FOMO. I recommend that place if you’re looking for a no-FOMO community and don’t hate Reddit (fair if you do, I try to greatly limit my Reddit usage myself).

I’m chronically ill and a bit of a genetic nightmare, also have been in therapy for quite some time so there may be thoughts on these topics as well. Since they can be heavier or sensitive subjects for some, I do try to warn beforehand so people know what they’re getting into.

Other notes: my jobs have been eclectic. I was a former artist who stopped doing art for quite some time, I used to work in the games industry (thankfully I’m not anymore, but my name is still credited in some video games), and I’m currently in a field where I can’t talk about 99.9% of what I do, so I don’t bring it up. These days I only do art for myself or my friends (and on occasion for ArtFight) but I will put up a post somewhere if I ever decide to take on a few commissions again. (Though I don’t have an artist code for VGen so… who knows?) I’m very rusty from time away though, oof.

As you can see I also write a lot. This is also true for opinions, reviews and any other rambles that come up so just be prepared.

Anyway, all that rambling to say that I’m glad you’re here and I hope you like my articles.

Thanks for your time! Until next time,
